Criteria to Apply

A black male in the 6th - 12th Grade within the Greater Pittsburgh Area (While our target is black males, students of all ethnicities are welcome to apply. )
Availability to attend our weekly programming
Accepted students will be expected to participate in the year-long program focusing on self-development, financial responsibility, and STEAM careers
Please be mindful that we want to support as many students as we can, but to provide the best program possible, we have to select students who are a good fit for our program and express effort in joining. We have limited spaces, and the selection criteria are as follows:
- Timeliness of the Application. Applications are due June 30, 2024
- Content in Recommendation Letter, if applicable
- Level of Effort in Completing Application (Use of full sentences, grammar, well-thought-out responses)
- Signed Grade Releases Form
- Inclusion of your grades*
*Please note, that we will not be using your grades as a selection criterion. It will be used so we can help set goals for our students to track progress together.

What Happens After I Apply?

We will follow up after receiving your application to schedule your interview
Program Duration: October 2024 - June 2024
Meetings will take place weekly on Sundays from 3:00 - 5:00 pm EST
- Workshops will take place in person at the Shadyside Boys & Girls Club
